7th Principle of Kwanzaa

Faith

Just after midnight on New Year's Eve, and after Achebe was awaken to light the 7th and last candle on the Kinara, he fell asleep, surrounded by the people he knew and loved best. When Nana came and opened the Great Book, The spirit of Imani appeared holding a lighted candle.  She spoke:

"May the Blessings of Heaven be upon you and all your relations. May Joy, Love, Peace, Radiant Health, Prosperity be yours as you step into the unknown."
